Boldin and Rice moving the ball

Boldin hauls in another pass for 18 in the middle of the field, and Rice goes up the middle for 5 yards. Ray Rice has already had 8 touches in the first quarter so it seems as if the Ravens are trying to get him more involved in the offense again.

Torrey Smith hauls in a pass

Torrey Smith gets first catch of the day. He currently leads the NFL in yards per catch with 20.3

Akers connects from 45, ties game 3-3
Ngata records a sack

Ngata sacks Smith on 3rd down, forces the 49ers to bring out the field goal unit

Vernon Davis down the middle

Smith goes to Davis on 3rd and 2, who runs the ball downfield for 20 yards.

M&T Bank Stadium

This has long been considered one of the hardest places to play in the NFL, not due to the cold like stadiums up north, or the winds at Heinz field, but because of the fans. It just got so loud that the 49ers were forced to call a timeout with 9 seconds left on the play clock because apparently the receivers couldn’t hear the audibles. Apparently it does have serious impact on opposing teams, seeing that they’ve gone 15-1 at M&T in the last 16 home games.

Ravens go 3-and-out, 49ers ball.
Fun Fact!

The Ravens defense has yet to surrender any points on the opposing teams first drive of the game for any game this season. Even more impressive, this streak actually dates back to the last 18 regular season games. Let’s see if they can continue that streak today….

UPDATE: 49ers forced to punt and Ravens bring their streak to 19 consecutive games

Tedd Ginn Jr. with the return

Tedd Ginn Jr. has only 3 career kick returns for a touchdown, but averages 28 yards per return this year, one of the highest totals in the league. It’ll be interesting to see how big a role he plays against this Baltimore defense.

Cundiff hits from 40!

Billy Cundiff knocks the ball between the uprights from 40, and the Ravens put the first points on the board (3-0). Cundiff is now 23-29 on the year, with all those misses coming from over 50 yards.
